6. Felt Snowflake Window Silhouettes

There’s something old-fashioned and wonderful about snowflakes stuck to a window. Before electric lights, families used to cut paper snowflakes and tape them to the panes to celebrate the season. Felt is even better because it’s slightly thicker, casts a beautiful soft shadow, and doesn’t curl at the edges.
Cut large snowflake shapes from white, pale blue, and silver felt. The bigger the better for window silhouettes because they need to read from a distance. Tape them directly to the window with double-sided tape, or attach them to the glass with a tiny dot of removable glue.
For extra drama, layer smaller snowflakes on top of larger ones and add a few small felt dots in between to mimic falling snow. The whole arrangement looks magical when the light shines through in the morning or when your indoor lights glow behind them at night.
You can leave them up all winter, and because felt doesn’t fade, they’ll look just as lovely in February as they did in November.
