7. Embroidered Felt Snowflake Coasters

7

These little projects combine the charm of a snowflake with the practicality of something you’ll use every day. Embroidered felt snowflake coasters are sweet, giftable, and surprisingly quick to make.

Cut two circles or squares of thick wool felt for each coaster. On the top piece, draw or trace a simple snowflake design. Stitch along the lines using a backstitch or stem stitch in contrasting embroidery floss. White snowflakes on navy felt, or silver on cream, look especially elegant.

Once your design is stitched, place the two felt pieces together and blanket-stitch around the edge with the same thread color. In about 20 minutes, you’ll have a finished coaster that looks handcrafted in the best way.

Make a set of four in a coordinating palette and tie them up with ribbon for a thoughtful hostess gift. They’re also lovely for hot cocoa nights on the couch or as a small accent on a winter tablescape.
