Terracotta brings an earthy, grounded presence to any tabletop or shelf vignette. You can achieve this matte, porous look on any plastic or ceramic pumpkin using everyday household supplies.
- Materials: Plastic thrifted pumpkins, warm beige or muted taupe acrylic paint, baking powder, matte sealant spray, foam brush.
- How to Make It: Mix equal parts matte acrylic paint and baking powder in a small bowl until a thick, mousse-like paste forms. Using a foam brush, apply the mixture generously across the pumpkin using short, stippling motions to build physical grit. Allow the first coat to dry completely for two hours before applying a second coat to cover any translucent patches. Once fully cured, spray with a flat matte topcoat to lock in the powdery finish.
