7. The Drawer-Pull Wall Organizer

This idea is a delightful little upcycle that takes old wooden drawer fronts and transforms them into a wall-mounted organizer. The drawer pulls themselves act as natural hooks for keys, lanyards, headphones, or small baskets, while the wooden surface becomes a built-in shelf or memo display.
You will need one or more wooden drawer fronts (salvage from old dressers, or purchase from architectural salvage shops), wall mounting brackets, optional small baskets, and a finish. Sand the fronts lightly, apply a coat of paint or stain, attach the brackets to the back, and mount. If the pulls are missing, swap in vintage cup hooks or small brass knobs for a similar effect.
This project is wonderfully quick, often under two hours, and the difficulty is low if you are working with pre-finished drawer fronts. The look feels vintage, slightly French country, and effortlessly collected. It works especially well in offices that already have a few antique or thrifted pieces in the mix.
One lovely detail is that each drawer front has its own history, even if you don’t know what dresser it came from. The slight imperfections, old nail holes, and patina all add up to a piece that feels storied and warm. If you cannot find drawer fronts, old cabinet doors work just as well and can be trimmed to size.
