4. Felt Turkey Wreath for the Front Door
A fall wreath doesn’t have to be expensive or complicated. This one uses a foam or wire wreath base, layered felt feathers, and a small plush turkey head at the center. It looks intentional and welcoming without taking an entire weekend to complete.
Start with a 12-inch wreath form. Cut dozens of leaf-shaped or teardrop felt pieces, each around 3 inches long, in autumn shades. Layer them in overlapping rows around the wreath, hot-gluing each one in place. Once the base is covered, add a small plush turkey head in the center or off to one side. You can either sew a tiny turkey or simply hot-glue a pre-made one from a craft store.
Time: 2 to 3 hours. Difficulty: intermediate. A useful trick is to lay the feathers out in a color gradient, going from deep burgundy on the outside to soft gold on the inside, which gives the wreath a more cohesive, designed look. This wreath stores flat and lasts for many seasons if you keep it out of the rain.
