2. No-Sew Felt Turkey Napkin Rings
These are a host’s secret weapon. They take about 15 minutes each, look polished on the table, and can be made in bulk the day before. They also double as a parting gift if you want to send each guest home with one.
Cut a strip of brown felt about 1.5 inches wide and 6 inches long. Wrap it around a rolled napkin to check the fit, then glue or staple the ends together to form a ring. Cut small feather shapes in autumn colors, each around 2 inches long, and layer three or four together. Glue the feather bundle to the top of the ring. Add a tiny orange beak and a small googly eye to a small brown circle for the turkey face, and attach that on top of the feathers.
Time: 15 minutes per ring. Difficulty: very easy. These are forgiving, so don’t worry about perfect symmetry. If you want a more polished look, use a contrasting stitch of embroidery thread along the edges. They also work wonderfully with cloth napkins you already own, and you can swap colors to match your dinnerware.
