3. Felt Turkey Finger Puppets
These are the craft to reach for when the kids need entertaining and you need 20 minutes to yourself. They slip on in seconds and immediately become characters in whatever story is being told at the table.
For each puppet, cut a rectangle of brown felt about 3 inches tall and 2.5 inches wide. Roll it into a tube and glue the seam. For the head, cut a small circle of brown felt and glue it to the top of the tube, slightly off-center. Add googly eyes, an orange triangle beak, and a red wattle. Cut small feather shapes in colorful felt and glue them to the back of the head, fanning out.
Time: 10 minutes per puppet. Difficulty: easy, great for kids. A good way to keep little ones involved is to let them choose the feather colors and arrange them before gluing. If you’re making a whole flock, set out bowls of pre-cut felt pieces and let them assemble.
