9. Vintage Botanical Print Collages
Channel old-world herbarium specimens by mounting pressed leaves on aged or tea-stained cotton paper, accented with handwritten calligraphy describing the botanical species and date of foraging.
- Materials: Tea-dyed or handmade deckle-edge watercolor paper, pressed leaves, archival liquid glue, fine-tip calligraphy pen, dark walnut picture frames.
- How to make: Position your specimen slightly off-center on deckle-edge paper. Use an archival glue pen to fix the stem and body. In the bottom right corner, write the Latin botanical name, common name, and collection location in subtle script. Mount in a dark wooden frame without a mat.
